Attention Frontier County Taxpayers!
If you own property in the City of Curtis, in the Medicine Valley School District or the Cambridge School District you will be getting a pink postcard in the mail in the next few days from the county. This postcard is to notify you that these three taxing entities have asked for more then their allowable growth percentage for the year. When they do this, they are required to have a public hearing to explain to the public why they are asking for more property taxes. They also have to notify each of you just how much those additional taxes could be. This information will all be on your pink postcard you receive in the mail.
City of Curtis is asking for an additional $5,019.70 in property taxes.
MV Schools is asking for an additional $467,300.01 in property taxes.
Cambridge Schools is asking for an additional $232,520.80 in property taxes.
The public hearing for the City of Curtis and MV Public Schools will be Thursday, September 21st at 7:00 PM at the Curtis Community Center.
The public hearing for Cambridge Schools will be Wednesday, September 20th at 6:30 PM at the Arapahoe City Building.
All taxpayers are highly encouraged to attend these hearings to listen to the presentations, ask questions and voice any concerns you may have in regards, to how these particular entities are spending your tax dollars.
All taxpayers are also encouraged to attend any or all of the budget hearings for the political entities they pay property taxes to. All of them are required to publish the dates and times of these hearings in their local paper. There are a total of 33 taxing entities that collect property taxes in Frontier County.
